About

Most hairstyle inspiration stops at the photo. The cut looks perfect, the color glows, and nobody mentions that it needs thick hair, a round brush, twenty minutes every morning, or a salon visit every five weeks.

Herbloomly exists to fill in that missing part. Alongside each hairstyle idea, we cover the practical questions worth asking before you book an appointment: who a style tends to suit, how much effort it takes to maintain, and how to describe it to your stylist.

About

Hi, I’m Amy Stewart, the founder and editor of Herbloomly.

I’m not a licensed hairstylist, and I want to be upfront about that. Herbloomly isn’t built on a cosmetology license. It’s built on careful research and a simple belief: you deserve to know what you’re signing up for before you sit in the salon chair.

I started Herbloomly after one too many haircuts that looked nothing like the photo I brought in. The information I needed existed, but it was never next to the pretty pictures. So I decided to put it there.

Every article here is written for the reader I used to be: someone holding a saved photo, wondering whether it will actually work for her hair, her face, and her mornings.

About the images on Herbloomly

Many of the hairstyle images on Herbloomly are created with AI image tools to illustrate a cut, color, or styling idea. They are visual references, not photos of real clients, and the same style will look different on your hair depending on density, texture, color history, and how it is styled. Use them as a starting point for a conversation with your stylist, not as a promise of an exact result.

Where an article uses a photographer’s or stylist’s work, it is credited and used with permission.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Haircuts by length: pixies, bobs, shags, layers, and long styles
  • Styles by hair type and texture: because a cut that works on thick, wavy hair can fall flat on fine, straight hair
  • Face shape guides: with the reasoning behind the suggestions, not just a list of rules
  • Hair color ideas: with notes on upkeep, so you know what you’re committing to
  • Ideas by age: because what suits you can change over the years
  • Occasion hairstyles: for weddings, proms, homecoming, holidays, and ordinary days
  • Updos and braids: for when you want something more polished

How Each Article Is Approached

Every article tries to answer the questions people actually have before a cut or color appointment:

  • Will it suit me? Notes on the hair types, textures, and face shapes a style tends to work with, and where it may be harder to achieve.
  • How much work is it? Honest flags on styling time and maintenance, including when a look takes more effort than it appears.
  • What do I ask for? The key features of the shape, layers, or color placement, so you have the words for your stylist.
  • Is the photo realistic? Reminders when a look depends on professional styling, ideal lighting, or a specific hair type.

I research each topic using a range of sources and aim to keep the information practical and accurate. When trends shift, information changes, or a reader points out a problem, I update the article.

Our Standards

  • Honesty over hype. If a style is high-maintenance, hard to achieve on certain hair types, or depends on professional styling, I’ll say so.
  • Clear limits. Herbloomly offers general inspiration and guidance, not professional advice. For chemical treatments, major color changes, or hair and scalp concerns, please consult a qualified professional. The Disclaimer explains this in more detail.
  • Clear about ads. Herbloomly shows display ads through Journey by Mediavine to help cover the cost of running the site. Ads never decide what gets written here, and Herbloomly does not currently use affiliate links or publish sponsored content.
  • Corrections welcome. If something in an article is wrong or out of date, I want to know so I can fix it.
